Description: The history of the Vietti winery traces its roots back to the 19th Century. Almost 150 years have passed since its foundation. It was the end of 1800 when Carlo Vietti started the Vietti winery, right in the heart of the Langhe, on the highest point of the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto. In the very same place where it is located today. Since then the family has made a name for Vietti's single-vineyard Barolos and Barberas. Luca Currado joined the family business as winemaker after working at renowned wineries such as Simi, Opus One, Long Vineyards, and Bordeaux's Mouton-Rothschild. His innovative winemaking utilizes a unique combination of modern and traditional practices. The “Castiglione” Barolo is a classic style of Barolo. The grapes come from small, yet significant vineyards in the various municipalities of Barolo and the vines are between 10 and 45 years old.
