Description: Winemaker Raúl Pérez is highly revered by the new generation of Spanish producers. He is a major influence in Bierzo, his native region, and in Galicia, where he has set new quality standards in Rías Baixas and Ribeira Sacra. He also consults for wineries in other parts of Spain. Although his wines are at time irregular and undergo frequent changes, they manage to deliver unique and memorable experiences. And, best of all: prices have remained very reasonable.
His priority is to exert the minimum influence on the grape, that’s how he understands wine. Observing every type of soil, each individual climate and the ripening times of every variety is the basis of his work, an endeavor that allows the wine to express itself without touching it, without any additives that transform it, taking the lead from the wood and leaving each vintage to modify itself, thus achieving non-standardized wines.
