Grape: 100% Chardonnay. Region: France> Burgundy> Chassagne Montrachet> Village Burgundy. Notes: Labeled as a village Burgundy, but most grapes come from the estate in Chassagne Montrachet. Organic and natural winemaking, no filtering.
Description: Alexandre and Benoit Moreau run the historic estate in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet. Serious thought goes into their handcrafted wines- from when exactly to harvest to hand-sorting for the best clusters. The Moreau family is known for creating a chardonnay with freshness and precision, always keeping the acidity on the high side to allow for better food pairing and ageing potential. A slight pear-quince fruit on the palate, with racy acidity, gives it a lean impression upfront that opens into a round mid-palate with expressions of vanilla, buttercream, and soft oak.
Food Pairing: grilled/stuffed lobster tails, clams with garlic/white wine, etc.
