Description: Altesino has built a reputation for making high quality wines dating back to the early 1970’s. Altesino became the first Montalcino estate to introduce the concept of Cru or single vineyard selections in 1975. In 2002, Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini purchased the Altesino winery and is committed to maintaing Altesino’s hard-earned reputation. The estates most famous wine is all from Montosoli vineyard. A five hectare vineyard on high elevation with a marl and limestone soil composition. These features contribute to a highly complex and elegant wine that is consistently highly rated.
