Description: Praised by the great philosophers Strabo and Pliny the Elder, the ancient Italian varietal Galioppo was known to these Latin speakers as “Sanutum”, which meant “healthy” or “sane”. This Medium-bodied wine is delightfully complex, while still easy-drinking. Very smooth and slightly viscous. Complex flavors of baking spice, black cherry, and ganache with a long finish. This is a wine that is equally suited to a romantic dinner or a spirited conversation.
Food Pairings: Eggplant Parmesan, lamb (braised or stewed), mushroom lasagna, Sicilian pizza, olives, etc.
