Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir. Region: Chile> Aconcagua Valley. Notes: Sustainable farmed, oak barrel ageing.
Description: Viña San Esteban was founded in 1974 by José Vicente. After 20 years dedicated to the production of grapes, together with his son Horacio they decide to renovate the vineyards and build a modern winery, in order to complete the cycle and produce high quality wines in the Aconcagua Valley. With a vast knowledge of both vineyards and winemaking, Horacio Vicente studied Oenology at the University of Bordeaux and worked in France - Château Mouton Rothschild and Mouton Cadet - and in the United States, in one of the first boutique vineyards in California -Chalone Vineyards-. These experiences undoubtedly favored Viña San Esteban's oenological excellence. The Reserva is made with selected grapes from our best vineyards, located in the upper part of the Aconcagua valley. These wines reflect the delicate balance between varietal expression and aging in oak barrels.
Intense ruby red color, hints of sweet cherry, dark berries, leather, and spice. The wine displays a light tannic structure and light on the palate with a long meaty (gamey) finish. This is not a typical fruit-bomb, up-in-your-face Pinot Noir often found in the market. Exhibiting elegance and maturity with an old-world charm. The well-rounded characteristics make this wine complimentary to a wide range of red-meat dishes. A quality Pinot Noir at an extremely affordable price.
Food Pairing: Light or red meats, game, soft cheese, hearty dishes, dark or red sauces, pizza, burgers, etc.
