Description: Casa Santos Lima was founded by the great grandfather of winemaker's Maria Joao and Jose Luis Santos Lima. The brother and sister team have lived up to his legacy with the production of quality, easy-drinking, and accessible wines using traditional and modern viticulture. The vineyards are protected from the harsh winds of the Atlantic coast by mountains without being too far removed from a positive influence of the ocean. Well elevated and marked by sloping hills, clay and limestone soil vineyards engender classic understated expression of terroir in the wine. The wine region of Lisboa is known historically for being prolific producers. To this day the vineyards yield quality everyday wines with a great quality to price ratio.
The Portuga is a very successful blend of two classic French varietals (Cabernet and Syrah) and two local grapes to create a smooth easy drinking wine. Red fruit and dark berries on the nose. Appropriate on any table with dinner.
Food Pairing: Grilled and stewed Meats, vegetables, black olive dishes, etc.
