Description: Fontezoppa is the name of an ancient water source which flowed where today the rows of vines run. Located in Civitanova Alta and Serrapetrona where the balance between climatic conditions, richness of the soil, and proximity to the Adriatic Sea allows Cantine Fontezoppa to cultivate and age their best wines. The Cató has a wonderful ruby red color with aromas of red fruit, ginger, and red apple skin After a little air the wine opens with creme de cassis. On the palate, light to medium-bodied with dusty tannins upfront. Good acid/ alcohol balance with tart cherry-cranberry with a touch of wood root on the mid-palate. The finish is clean and bright with a touch of loam.
Food pairing: Cheese, grilled fish, salmon, mushrooms, oxtails, grilled poultry, stews, veggies, etc.
