Grape: 100% Nero D’Avola. Region: Italy> Sicily. Notes: Sustainably Produced.
Description: From the south facing vineyards on the estate of Gelso Grande, between Mount Erice and the Egadi, comes Nero d’Avola Branciforti of Bordonardo. Perfect archetype of sicilianità, the grapes mature slowly in full sun to reveal band of intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The wine is ruby red in color. Medium to full-bodied and lightly candied, with dark cherry, tobacco and firm, woodsy spice notes. Made from Nero d’Avola grapes, it represents the culmination of a long experience with the most modern vinification technologies, but also with a stringent respect of ancient traditions. Harvested in the third week of September, it is characterized by scents of ripe red fruits, plum and Mediterranean herbs with delicate balsamic notes. Somewhat more restrained and earthier than other Nero d'Avole.
Food Pairings: Red meat, roast spiced and seasoned cheeses, etc.
