Description: The S.C.E. Gros family purchased this winery from Chateau Bourneuf in the 19th century. It sits atop of soil composed of Iron, Silica, and gravel composite. This is a wine that is ready to drink now and for several years into the future. Nice purple color throughout with aromas of creme de cassis, violets, and framboise. On the palate the wine displays good vibrant acidity, which is important as the wine develop. Toasted oak and gripping tannin upfront revealing fresh cedar wood and layers of black cherry, dried trumpet mushrooms, and cool menthol. As the wine decants, the aroma intensifies with cherry ganache and more complexity.
