Description: The Windisch family has lived in the village of Mommenheim as far back as 1780. In 1920's, Fritz Windisch was the first to start estate-bottling their wine. Now his son Guenter carries on the family tradition. Typical Vineyard soils are Loess which can be considered the most parent rock in this area. The climate is milder creating a longer growing season which helps develop the flavonoids and polyphenols. The wine shows reflections of white gold and pale yellow color. The aroma of stone fruit and cotton candy comes to mind. The palate reveals a rich, unctuous texture that still retains good acidity while revealing notes of stone fruit, tangerine, and cotton candy on the finish.
Food pairings: Asian cuisine (spicy also), avocado, cheese (rich and stinky), foie gras, ham, pate, desserts, fruit salads, etc.
