Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Region: France> Loire Valley> Sancerre> Bué . Notes: All estate Fruit, Sustainably farmed.
Description: Family winemaking since 1750 on the slopes of Bue, amongst the best vineyard sites in Sancerre. Picard's Sancerre Blanc comes from the magnificent clay-limestone, south-facing slopes of the Grand-Chemarin and Coteaux de Marloup vineyards from 30 year old or older vines. Picard has planted Sauvignon Blanc clones that produce small berries of aromatic intensity.
Aromas of Limestone, quartz rock, and gooseberries. The palate has dry, crisp texture with good nervous acidity. Restrained fruit and stone reflections that makes this a classic. A perfect example of a very good Sancerre Blanc.
