Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Region: France> Loire Valley> Sancerre> Chaudoux> Verdigny. Notes: Hand harvested with minimal intervention, no oak.
Description: Driven by passion for wine and the land, Pierre Riffault created the domaine in the 1980's. Currently his son, Bertrand runs the day to day operations. The family-owned farm is located in the heart of Sancerre, with vineyards located on sloping terrain with good sun exposure. This is a classic Sancerre with lots of minerality on the palate. Clean, bright aromas of mineral stone, flint, and gooseberry. The acidity is vibrant and high-toned which makes for that classic, racy style of Sancerre. Lots of limestone minerality with medium weight and a tart, thirst quenching finish.
Food pairings: Cheese (goat, chevre, etc.), oysters, salads, veggies, shellfish, lemon sauce, chicken (piccata), tomatoes, acidic foods, etc.
