Description: "If the Kistler Winery could be magically transported to the middle of Burgundy's Cote d'Or, it would quickly gain a reputation as glorious as any producer from Burgundy's grand crus." -Robert Parker
The Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay is planted 1800 feet above sea level on the western edge of the Mayacama mountains.Green-tinged pale yellow. Distinct and delicate perfumes of white spring morning flowers, just ripe stone fruit both skins and flesh, and a subtle minerality akin to wet rock. Softly gripping on the palate with its one-of-a-kind tactile nature which runs all the way through to the finish and gently lifts the powerfully expressive fruit flavors in the mid palate, already buoyed by strong natural acidity. A fitting, classic bottling for our original vineyard in our 40th vintage and a beautiful example of one of our very best sites. Hails from now forty-three-year-old dry farmed vines.
Kistler Vineyards is a small, privately owned winery that has produced some of the finest examples of terroir-driven Chardonnays from the new world consistently for over 30 years.
