Description: Obaya is the name of a small stream in the Asturias in Northern Spain where the winemaker's family spent summers when they were a child. Grapes are grown on a high plateau then macerated and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks; malolactic fermentation occurs naturally after press. The wine is then aged in 2-3-year-old large oak barrels. Bright purple- red in color, the nose is fruity, with red berries and slight toasty aromas. The velvety palate has smooths tannins and gentle finish. This is a high quality easy drinking everyday wine.
Food Pairing: Grilled meats (lamb, beef, pork), roasted poultry, risottos, hearty soups, etc.
