Description: The Bosman family have a history of growing wine in the Bovlei area of Wellington, dating back to 1810. Through eight generations they have worked hard to create a better life for all who live and work on the farm. Wine is made in their historic 260 year old cellar. Fides is a orange wine, although a rarity today, they have been made for 6,000 years, the process is still the same, white or off-colored grapes are fermented on their skins for an extended period of time creating amber or orange colored wines that offer more tannins (compared to most white wine) and flavor. The Fides is made from a single vineyard site that is naturally fermented on decomposed granite soils.
The wine exhibits a true amber and burnt orange color with aromas of white pepper, dried peach and watermelon. Good acid/ alcohol balance with dusty tannins. Light to medium-bodied with notes of dried orange pith, flora, and watermelon sweet-tart.
Food pairing: Caccio e Pepe pasta, Cajun food, salmon, etc.
