Region: France> Champagne> Bouzy.
Grape: 100% Pinot Noir
Notes: Winemaker Jean-Francois Clouet said his great ancestor Andre Clouet served in Napoleon's army during the Napoleonic Wars. After his service, Napoleon granted Andre Clouet his request for land in his native village of Bouzy. Since 1751 the Clouet family has owned property in the village of Bouzy that eventually was classified Grand Cru status.
Description: This is a very special champagne made with Grand Cru grapes. Light Sockeye salmon color. Tiny bubbles create a fine beaded necklace uniformly rising to the center of the glass, and then circling around the rim. The mousse is soft and enduring with aromas of fresh red berries and summer roses. Lovely satin mouth-feel with notes of rose petals, subtle red fruit, and a long deep finish. Strikingly memorable!
