Region: France>Champagne>Bouzy. Grape: Pinot Noir Notes: Zero dosage, 100% Grand Cru Vineyards. Founder of estate was one of Napoleon's generals - still owned by the same family. Current owner/winemaker is Jean Francois Clouet. Estate is in Bouzy where the best Pinot in Champagne is grown - all Grand Cru vineyards. Pure and focused, it’s made with no dosage. The mousse and finish are both utterly impeccable in their elegance. This champagne is blanc de noir - i.e. 100% pinot noir. This is their zero brut cuvee so no dosage. Rich full pinot fruit with beautiful balancing natural acidity. Small production - less than 20 thousand cases. Half the fruit is estate, half comes from his cousin..Champagne Paul Clouet.
