Fortified' means the alcohol pecentage of the base wine (or grape juice) has been raised through the addition of spirits. 'Aromatized' means that the base wine has been infused with botanicals- herbs, roots, flowers. (For example: Gentian root, Wormwood, Ginger, Orris Root, Violet, Coriander, Lavender, Rose, Chinchona Bark, Coriander, Chamomile, etc.)
