Grapes: 55% Monastrell; 25% Cabernet Sauvignon; 20% Syrah.
Region: Spain> Jumilla.
Notes: 60 year old Monastrel vines. Partially oak-aged.
This wine is based on the local varietal called Monastrell (known in France as Mouvedre). The extremely arid climate in this part of the world leads to the production of low yielding vines with very concentrated grapes must, which gives this wine its depth of color and amazing flavors. The color shows purple and burgundy hues. The nose reveals aromas of bay leaves, oregano, and a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with raspberry ganache, vanilla-cream, and a savory herbal tone. The wine is round and juicy on the palate with soft, light tannins and balanced acidity.
Food Pairing: Red meat, red sauce, grilled and rustic dishes, etc.
