Grapes: 80% Negroamaro, 20% Primitivo. Region: Italy> Puglia. Notes: Appassimento method, Intensely Fruity.
Description: Slightly sweet, smooth, juicy, mouthful of fruity flavors of cherry, black plum, licorice, dry fig and spices. Very dark purple red in color with soft tannins.
The Puglia region’s indigenous varietals, Negroamaro and Primitivo (relative of Zinfandel) are used, with 20% of going through the Passito method, in which grapes are dried out and turned into raisins before pressing and vinifying. The warm climate, juicy grape varietals, and distinctive soil, make this a great wine.
Food pairing: Aperitif, charcuterie, red meat, game, spicy food, aged cheese, etc.
