Description: Tending the vineyards planted by his grandfather, Claudio Ancarani is now at the helm of this small winery located in Torre dell’Oriolo on the soft rolling hills that turn into the mountains of the Tuscan-Emilian Appennines near the town of Faenza. Claudio is proudly championing the re-discovery of the local indigenous varietals. Signore is made from the unusual Famoso grape, and shows a mineral, rich, dry palate; aromatics with stone fruits and white flowers. Claudio applies natural vineyard management, promoting biodiversity in his land, no herbicides and only copper and sulfur. He believes in winemaking with minimal intervention, he uses indigenous yeast, no new oak and adds close to zero sulfites.
