Description: Founded in 1877, the estate is located in the northern part of Rioja, Rioja Alta in the town of Haro. You will find the best growers in Rioja Alta, and Lopez de Heredia is certainly one of them. Traditional winemaking and ageing wine much longer than the minimal ageing requirements for all of their wines makes this wine a very interesting and complex wine upon release. The Cubillo exhibits an intoxicating nose of blood orange, soy, and saddle leather. The palate displays excellent alcohol/acid balance with good dusty tannins and complex fruit characteristics. This wine will continue to get better with age and/or decanting.
